Uploaded at 2009-12-11 00:44:11.870014 (Edit) (Permalink)Das Geoportal Mittenwalde steht als Informations- und Auskunftssystem für alle Bürgerinnen und Bürger sowie Investoren und Wirtschaft zur Verfügung. Es informiert über planungsrelevante Daten wie Naturschutzgebiete, Bebeauungspläne, Satzungen, Gewerbe- und Industriegebiete, ÖPNV und über Points of Interest (POI - Orte von besonderem Interesse) wie Denkmäler, Spielplätze, Friedhöfe und öffentliche Gebäude. Darüber hinaus können sich die Bürgerinnen und Bürger die Liegenschaftskarte, die Topographische Karte und die Luftbilder von der LGB (Landesvermessung und Geobasisinformation Brandenburg) anzeigen lassen. Alle Themen stehen als WMS-Dienst zur Verfügung und sollen in Zukunft auch über die Suchmaschine GeoMIS des Landes Brandenburg publiziert werden. Es ist ebenso möglich, gezielt nach Daten wie Bebauungsplänen, Satzungen, Bushaltestellen, POIs oder Strassennamen zu suchen. Die Daten kann man mit eigenem Kommentar wahlweise in verschiedene Blattformate ausdrucken. Des Weiteren ist es nach Bedarf möglich eigene Strecken und Flächen zu messen.

Olive flowering is believed to be a sensitive indicator of climate warming in the Mediterranean Basin. Here a physiologically based demographic model (PBDM) of olive integrated into GRASS GIS is used to map average olive bloom dates (from 1 January) in Sardinia (Italy) simulated under observed weather (1997–2007) and three climate warming scenarios (+1, +2 and +3 °C).

Climate warming effects on the distribution of pink bollworm in cotton in Arizona and California

Winter survival of pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella, PBW) larvae during 2003 across the ecological zones of southern Arizona and California with observed weather (+0°C) as well as with 1.5 and 2.5 °C increase in average daily temperature. PWB is a major pest of cotton worldwide and its geographic range is limited by winter frosts that kill overwintering dormant larvae. As temperatures rise, winter frosts will decrease, greatly increasing the winter survival and subsequent spread of PBW, and greatly expanding the geographic range and damage of this pest. The predictions of the biological model were mapped using GRASS GIS. Only public domain geospatial data were used in the model/GIS integrated analysis. A tool to calculate home ranges is available as QGIS plugin. It provides an intuitive graphic interface that collects all parameters of the analysis and calls R via rpy2 to perform it. Available analyses are: MCP, kernel href, kernel hLSCV, kernel with adjusted h (Wauters et al, 2007). Batch analysis is also available. You can downolad it via Plugin Installer, adding Faunalia repository to the list available by default as a 3rd party plugin, starting with QGIS 1.0). This project has been developed as Google Summer of Code project and is part of AniMove toolbox.

Uploaded at 2009-04-04 04:27:23.550284 (Edit) (Permalink)Avalanche flow modelling raster data is first imported to GRASS GIS ; a DEM is generated from contour lines using RST algorithm ; then NVIZ provides a way to generate oblique views of the model drapped on the DEM, according to existing aerial photographs (altitude and position of the aircraft). In the end these snapshot couples (generated with the aid of ImageMagick) can be analysed concurrently with classical avalanche photo-interpretation method. A great tool for avalanche hazard surveying !
